When Fate Blooms: The Story of a Masterpiece

A world-class sculptural chandelier is waiting in the wings for its grand debut at Grandiflora. This stunning masterpiece of art and light—which feels as though it were destined for our event venue—will soon serve as the crowning jewel of the Grand Hall.

Measuring more than 12 feet tall, the chandelier features hand-forged iron branches set with magnolia leaves. Clusters of meticulously crafted magnolia flowers hide the lamps, casting a soft, diffused light. Designed by Cox London, it is the most prominent work in the London-based studio’s Magnolia series of art and furnishings.

When you join us for our grand opening in Spring 2027, be sure to look up and enjoy the radiant sparkle of this spectacular light installation—a true statement piece that perfectly reflects the artistry of Knoxville’s premier event venue.

Mere Coincidence or Design Destiny?

For Sean Hackett of McCarty Holsaple McCarty, a scouting trip through New York’s premier art districts resulted in a story he now files under "believe it or not."

The journey began at the Salon Art + Design showcase at the prestigious Park Avenue Armory. Upon entering, a floral sculptural chandelier of extraordinary scale and beauty stopped Sean in his tracks. The real shock, however, came from the placard. To his amazement, Sean read the name of the piece: Magnolia Grandiflora.

As the lead architect deep into the design phase for the Grandiflora on Magnolia Avenue in Knoxville, Sean says it felt like a match made in heaven. He shared the find with our founder and president, Phil Lawson, who instantly agreed that the masterpiece was an undeniable fit for the venue. Soon, this stunning sculptural chandelier will grace Grandiflora, bathing the Grand Hall and our brides and guests in a luminous, unforgettable glow.

Setting the Stage: Construction Update

We’ve hit an exciting new milestone at Grandiflora! If you look past the construction materials currently filling our 8,000 sq. ft. sanctuary, you’ll see the Grand Hall’s stage floor is now fully built. It’s a thrilling sneak peek of what’s to come, making it easy to envision the vibrant performances and elegant events heading our way next spring.

Construction continues steadily and on schedule. Every day, our partners at Christopoulos & Kennedy and McCarty Holsaple McCarty bring professional craftsmanship and attention to detail to the site. A perfect example? The team tested full mockups of the custom iron balcony railings to ensure flawless sightlines from all 100 balcony seats. With those views confirmed, Aespyre Metals is now forging the railings, blending safety with a tailored design that beautifully complements the Grand Hall’s character.

We’re counting down the days until we can welcome you into this breathtaking venue. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue building Knoxville’s premier event destination.
